Basketball Training & Workout Camps

We call our camps "Workout Camps" because they are not your normal "picture taking, rotate through stations" type of camps. When a player comes to our camp they will experience much of the same advanced teaching and instruction as we offer at Nike Skill Academies and NBA pre-draft workouts, but broken down in a progressive form that every player can handle.

Campers will develop the basics all week and compete in 2 on 2, 3 on 3, and 4 on 4 before playing 5 on 5. They will also participate in a film session daily to watch the teaching points and moves they have learned. Participants will need to bring a notebook and a pen to every camp or workout they attend.

Ideally, only Ganon Baker Basketball Certified Trainers are selected as staff for our local and travel workout camps. We work in small numbers, with no more than eight - ten kids at each basket and with a ratio of eight - ten campers to each staff member. And each participant has a ball during every drill!

Ganon Baker, Micah Lancaster, or any one of our staff or Group Members are available to run your camp today!

 Camp Structure

70% of the camp activity is drillwork to improve triple threat, dribble triple threat, creating space with the dribble and out of the triple threat, NBA dribble moves, shot mechanics, intense shooting, moving without the ball, finishing, footwork to finish, jumproping, motion, reading the defense, and decision making.

15% of the camp activity is film study session to illustrate the individual skills. Clips from the best players in basketball are broken down and studied so that the workout attendees can visually learn as well. Film session is an hour everyday and campers are required to take notes.

15% of the camp activity is game play. This is where the attendees can practice what they have learned in a game atmosphere. Games are 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4 and 5 on 5.

Skill Select Exposure Camps

Ganon Baker has traveled the world teaching players the game of basketball.  He constantly battles the "too many games" issue everywhere he goes.  In most cases, players do not get enough skill work because they play too many games in their AAU Programs and as a result their skills are never harnessed.  Exposure Events tend to attribute to this problem as well.  Kelvin Powell has noticed that during these exposure events, the players are looking for exposure from college coaches, yet way too often they have their weaknesses are exposed instead.

Skill Select Exposure events are designed to offer the player EVERYTHING he or she needs to gain exposure and to be successful. This new concept is completely authentic and will provide the attendees with Skill Work and Games.  Players will also participate in classroom and round table discussions, lectures and film sessions that may cover everything from nutrition, game breakdowns, recruiting and much more.

Both Regional and National events are available.

Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday Morning.  Total Competitiong Hours = 3, Total Skill Workout Hours = 3, Film Session Hours = 1-2, Total Skill Workout Competitions = 3.
