GBB December Contest Winner: Sydney Brackemyre

Learn more about our December Contest Winner: Sydney is obviously a basketball player. Basketball is her only sport.

Daughter of Tony Brackemyre (Wilmington, Ohio) and Jennifer Samartini (Harveysburg, Ohio) She is 15 years old and plays for Clinton Massie High School in Clarksville, Ohio. Her HS coach is Alan Wilkenson. (Cincinnati/Dayton area)

She is a second year varsity player as a sophmore, currently averaging 18 a game and 12 rebounds. She plays AAU basketball for the

Cincinnati Angels out of Mason, Ohio. Her AAU coach is Dante Harlan (five time D1 state champion coach with the MND girls

basketball team) Syd made second team all league last year as a freshman and was the only freshman to get the honor. She played in several USJNs this past summer with the Angels and was put on the allstar teams.

As a sophomore, Sydney currently has four d1 offers. (She will most likely verbal at the end of August 2012, right before her Junior year.) She wants to major in kinesiology and would really like to become a trainer, similar to what they do at Ignition and what Ganon is doing.

Ignition in Mason, Ohio. Ignition is a speed and agility training facillity in Mason, Ohio. Ignition trains Bengals and many professional athletes. Working at Ignition has significantly increased her speed and vertical jump. They, as well as the Cincinnati Angels, are a Christian organization and always stress, “As iron sharpens iron . . . ‘

She is also a straight A student and a very hard worker. She is a great leader and is actively involved in her youth group.
